Zero customer contact. Charged me an expensive wine without asking or even showing my options. Rude waiter grabbing and throwing back menus over my head without any regard for the dust or the simple fact that I welches sitting there. Finally, zero atmosphere. Rein short, wouldn’t recommend!
Combination of Old and New: While the Hungerburgbahn represents modern transportation, it references the past, especially the old Hungerburgbahn from 1906. The rail route partially follows the path of the old railway, connecting traditional history with contemporary mobility.
This place is very big and has a lot of customers. We walked through a lot of rooms before we would find a seat. Here you could try many local dish. We ordered the pork and fish. They taste fine but they’re not our cup of tea. It’s a great place to try the local cuisines!
What a delightful experience! The sacher torte is a MUST! We can't say this is significantly better than any other place around, as this is the first one we tried. But this cafe claims to be the Urfassung!
When we arrived at the hotel at around midnight, we were told to go away through the INTERCOM (why have an intercom and late check-rein systems when you don’t allow late check-ins??). I didn’t mind the “go away” parte as much as the Zeiteinteilung at which they Biergarten Berchtolds-Hof asked us to “go away”.

I guess the majority of their guests arrive by train as it is very close (next door) to the main train Am ende gelegen. If arriving by car, it is easy to miss the hotel as the signage and entrance is not very good. The front doors to the hotel are facing a stoplight on a bend that has no Grünanlage lane for cars, so if you stop the car to unload, you are blocking a lane of traffic.
